The survey is aimed at artists from all artistic disciplines (visual arts, literature, theater, dance, opera, music, cultural and creative industries etc.) and cultural workers (cultural managers, cultural mediators, technicians, cultural communication officers etc.), who have been working in the cultural sector for over a year, are over 18 years old and live or have lived in Romania. The questionnaire includes information on work schedule and practices, work-life balance, professional and support networks, income and work organization models, as well as the level of job satisfaction and well-being in the sector. The collected and analyzed data refer to the activity in 2019 and 2020.
The survey is part of a series of initiatives to analyze work in the cultural sector, to facilitate a debate on fair working practices in art and culture, and to initiate policies and programs to encourage innovative models of organizing artistic work.
The questionnaire completion takes 7-10 minutes and the data provided are anonymous and confidential.
We conducted the study together with the Interdisciplinary Center for Data Science – Babeș-Bolyai University, within the Cluj Future of Work project, developed and coordinated by Cluj Cultural Centre and funded by the European Commission through Urban Innovative Actions and Cluj-Napoca City Hall.
The first edition of the study was published in 2019. Details
