Starting this year, the Cluj Cultural Centre (CCC) has become the host organization for the EUROPE DIRECT Cluj information center for the 2026–2030 mandate. This partnership reinforces the CCC’s role as a vital platform for civic and cultural dialogue at both the local and European levels. In its capacity as host, the CCC provides the necessary facilities for EUROPE DIRECT Cluj activities and supports the promotion of its initiatives—particularly those that intersect with cultural projects focusing on the future of cities, social cohesion, and the role of communities in Europe.
Information materials and assistance are provided free of charge at both the CCC headquarters and through partners at the Cluj Metropolitan Area. Citizens are encouraged to visit these locations to ask questions, seek clarifications, and access resources regarding European initiatives and their local impact.

Lia Valendorfean is responsible for the activities of EUROPE DIRECT Cluj, coordinating public engagement and communicating European Union messages within local communities. Last week, she traveled to Brussels to attend the general assembly of more than 400 EUROPE DIRECT centers from across the EU. This event launched the network’s new 2026–2030 mandate and featured workshops, discussions with European Commission and European Parliament officials, and sessions dedicated to exchanging best practices. Over the next few years, the EUROPE DIRECT network will prioritize the promotion of democracy, with centers intensifying their dialogue with citizens to address their specific questions and concerns.
EUROPE DIRECT is the official communication network of the European Commission. Funded by the EC and present in every EU member state, the network operates through 22 information centers in Romania. It serves as a mediator, translating European policies into a relevant local context.
