Culture Next

Culture Next is a network supporting cities to implement culture-led city development programmes and policies.

The network was founded in 2017 by current and former candidates for the European Capital of Culture title, and builds on the experiences, participatory processes and collaborations established during the candidacies.

The programme focuses on capacity building for members, organises conferences and annual meetings, and develops a platform for promoting member cities, as well as for facilitating collaborations amongst them. The network aims to become a voice in shaping European cultural policies.

An online meeting where we presented the network vision for the following years, with the following three priorities: 1. Build the network's capacity to facilitate sharing of resources and knowledge, peer-to-peer and city-to-city collaboration and support between its member cities; 2. Develop network initiatives to strengthen member cities and turn them into models for capacity building in the cultural sector; 3. Become a relevant voice for cultural policies at the international level.
