People who interacted more with art in the first months of the pandemic experienced fewer negative moods: 64% of them said that art helped them feel better and frequent consumption of art was associated with an improved mood, significance and appreciation for beauty, according to a study conducted by the Cluj Cultural Centre in 2020.
In the current pandemic context that tests our resilience, we propose the Culture Pill for well-being – an online questionnaire that assesses the emotional state and offers personalized cultural recommendations. The platform is in Romanian and is accessible to anyone, free of charge.
The cultural recommendations selected by the Academy of Change program team are adapted to the emotional states of the participants and include music, literature, film, visual arts etc.
Those who want to benefit from the cultural recommendations can fill in the questionnaire that is available on https://cccluj.ro/pastilaculturala and receive personalized suggestions by email. The program also includes a research stage conducted by Cluj Cultural Centre, which aims to assess the impact of cultural participation on people’s well-being.
Culture Pill is an initiative of Cluj Cultural Centre and is part of the European Art & Well-being project, which explores the relationship between art, health and the well-being of individuals and communities. The project is carried out in collaboration with “Babes-Bolyai – PsyTech” Psychological Clinic, Bookstory, TIFF Unlimited.
Implemented with the support of the European Commission through the Creative Europe programme, the Ministry of Culture and Cluj-Napoca City Hall.
