Cluj Cultural Centre launches the second edition of the Academy of Change – Training and Mentoring Program

Part of the Academy of Change – the Cluj Cultural Centre project for developing and increasing the cultural sector capacity, the training and mentoring program will take place between September and December 2021 and is designed to provide young cultural professionals with a better understanding of the innovation and resilience mechanisms they need in the current cultural context. The program encourages interaction and \”lateral thinking\”, practicing methods that combine practical knowledge teaching, academic intervention, case studies and free dialogue.

The Academy of Change – Training and Mentoring is, I think, one of the most interesting programs I had the opportunity to design, as it combines the artistic practice and cultural policy theories, offering its beneficiaries the opportunity to build an individualized but profound approach. connected to the complex reality of the the context they are part of, says Corina Șuteu.

Cultural professionals from all over the country, with a minimum of 2 years of experience, can register until August 22 to participate in the program. Dedicated to a maximum of 25 participants, the program will take place entirely online and is designed in a 4 modules structure: Workshops, Masterclass, Mentoring and Meetings, led by artists and cultural experts in various fields – visual arts, theater, dance, literature, cinematography; communication, cultural management and cultural policies:

  • Corina Șuteu, expert in cultural management and policy, is the director of the course and holds an introductory workshop along with interventions during the program.
  • Workshops with Cristian Lupșa, Rarița Zbranca, Oana Radu, Ștefania Ferchedău
  • Masterclass sessions with Vlad Ivanov, Ana Mărgineanu, Ovidiu Hrin, Ruxandra Cesereanu, Dan Perjovschi
  • Mentoring sessions by Rarița Zbranca, Răzvan Popovici, Mihai Chirilov

The first edition of the training and mentoring program convinced us of the need to perpetuate this type of learning and exchange context for those who work in culture. We continue this year with the same desire to open ways of dialogue and exploration, in an equally fluid format, accessible to all cultural professionals in the country. (Corina Bucea, project manager)

I started with “handbook” expectations: to discover theoretical concepts and solutions, to understand the artists’ perspective and learn how to work with them. In fact, I found out that there is no \”can\’t\”, that there are always resources, they just need to be correctly identified and correlated with the objectives. I received confirmation that I do not have to wait to get something from a \”system\”, but to do it myself, inspired by models. And, most importantly, I discovered new MODELS that I now admire and follow. (Oana Enășel, participant in the 2020 Training and Mentoring Program)

Detailed information about the program and the registration form can be found on www.academiaschimbarii.ro.

Registrations are open until August 22, 2021.
