Exploratory Encounters 2019

Miruna Amza, Project Manager within Cluj Cultural Centre participated in the workshop and debate session called Exploratory Encounters, which took place at Technorama, in Switzerland.

The ideal construction of STEAM education experiences, as well as such a science center, was conducted together with the Science Center\’s management staff, international experts from different specific areas and 10 other participants from countries such as Germany, Tanzania, Malta, Colombia and China.

„This experience has added value to shaping the long-term goals of our organization. The way in which the information was organized during these three days covered possible questions or difficulties that we could face, it presented us models of good practices and emergent innovations applicable in the STEM learning process, but also in building efficient science center exhibits and spaces. At the same time, what weighs a lot in such experiences is the cultural mix, in this case having participants from 3 continents. Although we are in different stages of development, the approach exemplified by each of us as being efficient in relation to the institutional environment, the general public and cultural operators opened the opportunity for debate and construction of possible long-term partnership, whilst informing of possible application models for different contexts”, declared Miruna Amza upon her arrival in Cluj after the Swiss experience.

Technorama Science Center is a place designed for self-directed discovery, understanding and learning. It is also the largest institution of extracurricular learning for science in Switzerland. The diverse range of exhibits, demonstrations, laboratories and workshops allows all visitors, regardless of age, background and education, to familiarize themselves with natural phenomena in a relaxed and playful manner.
